The ‘Bawse’ Rick Ross is currently working on his upcoming 6th studio album, entitled “Mastermind“, and has since released the project’s first single — the Future-assisted “No Games,” which definitely gets them heads knockin’ aka the track is hot.
So what’s next? Another single of the album, this time with head honcho Jay Z. The name of the new single is ”The Devil is a Lie.”
Yesterday (Oct 24th), Rick Ross chopped it up with MTV’s Sway to talk about the single, and gave detail on the title of the track & what listeners can expect on this coming album:
“We went in another direction but it’s just one of those records that’s gonna speak for itself and everybody’s gonna have their opinion of it.”
Rick Ross also describes his relationship with Jay Z as a very close-knit one. Jay don’t come out for everyone so they must be cool.
“From my second album, to my third and fourth, anytime I needed a collaboration, he [Jay Z] always made it happen. He’s been out of the country [for] some events, I’ve [called] him last minute and he made it happen. So there’s always been that genuine respect.”
And now that we think about it, since 2006, Jay has appeared on every Rick Ross album, except for 2009′s Deeper Than Rap. Jay Z has collaborated with a slim list of artists such as Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, wifey Beyonce, and Rick Ross. Must be nice to have a friend like Jay Z.
