Back on January 18th, the hip-hop community lost one of its greats when A$AP mob founder, A$AP Yams, was tragically found dead in his nyc apartment. The cause of his death was unknown at the time, although many speculated his death occurred through a drug overdose. Further details have now emerged on the cause of Yams’ death.
According to the Chief Medical Examiner, Jon Caramanica, A$AP Yams death was accidental. His death was triggered & caused by an acute mixed drug intoxication, which included opiates and benzodiazepine.
If you remember, Rocky released a statement, denying the rumors that Yams had died from an overdose, but was apparently misinformed. Rocky originally stated:
“People were saying that Yams overdosed on drugs — he didn’t overdose on any drugs. I feel like people feel that way because that’s all he’s in pictures doing. When you see A$AP Yams you see Hennessey or purple drink, you see some type of controlled substance or illegal narcotic.”
Sad news: Chief Medical Examiner calls ASAP Yams’s death accident caused by acute mixed drug intoxication (incl. opiates & benzodiazepine)
