Yesterday it was announced that Chi-Town’s most controversial newcomer, Chief Keef had been added to the Brick Squad roster. In March, Gucci Mane announced that he would be dropping Waka Flocka Flame from the squad for personal matters.
It’s sort of ironic that the two rappers in the music industry with the worst luck with the law just happen to want to start working with one another. Chief Keef, who just recently did a bid in jail for 60 days for a probation violation involving guns, has had more than seven legal issues that either resulted in court dates, parole violations, and finally jail. Even his last crossing with the court of law, since being released he continues to violate his probation by posting pictures on his social sites of more guns.
Gucci Mane (who at this point is viewed as plain crazy after tattooing an ice cream cone on his face in January 2011) has been indicted and released from jail for assault charges this past week. Gucci has had up to 10 legal issues spanning from his first debut back in 2005, to now.
Both artists took to their online accounts to announce the news. Gucci tweeted “Chief Keef newest member of Bricksquad 1017 bmg gbe mpa” (May 8) while Chief Keef used his Instagram to repost Gucci’s tweet, and adding his two cents of excitement “#WhatTimeItIs?1017”.
Chief Keef andGucci Mane have already released a song titled “Darker” to commence their new partnership and I’ll leave everyone to their opinions of it.
