The 2016 GRAMMYs nominations were announced yesterday, and Kendrick Lamar racked up the most with a whopping 11 nominations. Despite The 6 God’s mega success this year, Drake only garnered up four nominationss, with his smash hit “Hotline Bling” coming up empty-handed with no GRAMMY recognition. But this wasn’t done on behalf of the Academy..
According to gossip reports, the record was not submitted for nomination due to a clerical error in the office of Cash Money Records.
There was speculation that “Hotline Bling” was snubbed because it wasn’t the internet monster it would become at the time of the nomination deadline, September 30. But as it turns out, the nomination form never made it out of Cash Money offices by that date.
It’s so easy to assume this was a deliberate sabotage by Cash Money & Birdman. But we’re not saying that’s what it is…
