Just as the music showcases of SXSW (South By Southwest) begin to pick up momentum, the acclaimed music festival has been devastated by a heartbreaking tragedy.
At 12:30 a.m. CST Thursday, March 13, approximately 23 people were struck by a drunk driver outside of the Mohawk located in Downtown Austin on 9th and Red River streets. According to the Austin Police Department, a driver suspected of DUI was pulled over at a nearby gas station before speeding down the wrong way of a one-way street.
According to reports, the driver plowed into a crowd of people, injuring 23 people, five of which are in critical condition, and two deceased.

Tyler The Creator was scheduled to perform at SXSW but plans got cut after the horrific incident. He tweeted his disappointments:
