Future might want to consider changing his name to History. That’s all he’s gonna be remembered as after this one..
Future got himself DROPPED from Drake’s upcoming ‘Would You Like a Tour’ tour for comments from an interview with Billboard magazine where Future clearly disses the Toronto rapper.
Last month, Future was booked to tour with Drake and Miguel on the 39-city “Would You Like A Tour” tour, however things turned sour after Future dropped by Billboard’s offices on October 4 to promote his new album Honest.
Billboard’s Erika Ramirez posted a series of tweets of Future’s comments during the interview. Apparently these comments were to be ‘off the record’ but Billboard reps say the rapper never stated that, and everything said was apart of the interview. Check them out below:
Not only is future’s #honest album interesting, so are his thoughts on Drake’s #NWTS album. ‘Drake made an album that is full of hits but it doesn’t grab you. They’re not possessive; they don’t make you feel the way I do’ — Future.’
Future responded to those tweets — saying he was misquoted: “…Respect to Billboard, disappointed on being misquoted..always love for my fam Drizzy Drake”. His managers then tried to bargain with Billboard editors to get them to edit the story those quotes would not be used. Future’s management said that the original comments were supposed to be off the record & thus not used in the interview or to be made public.
Welp.. Too bad for Future as the damage was already done. According to Page Six, Drake was furious and demanded Future be dropped from the tour ASAP:
Future was fired, but then negotiations started to bring him back late last week. But over the weekend, Future pulled out for good after Drake’s camp demanded he make financial concessions. Future, who was set to earn about $40,000 per gig, is set to file a lawsuit this week against Drake for lost wages, or about $1.5 million.
The rappers’ beef is the latest drama in Drake’s tour. Last month, about a dozen dates were pushed back and rescheduled.
Reps for both Drake and Future had no comment. A rep for Billboard told us: “We regret that miscommunication surrounding Future’s recent visit, one that seemed clear to us was on the record, may have caused any trouble for the artist.”
Although Future really brought this upon himself, he is gearing up to sue Drake for lost wages with a bill totaling close to $1.5 million — more than twice of what he was even getting paid to do the concert. (The nerve!)
Future’s out.. & soulstress Jhene Aiko is on her way in. There’s negotiations that the R&B songbird will replace Future on the upcoming tour. More details are on the way so stay tuned..
