If you’re dealing with anything that is Notorious B.I.G. or Tupac-related, there’s a fine line to walk when it comes to paying homag and being disrespectful. We saw both sides this past year when DJ Khaled released his Suffering From Success single “I Feel Like Pac/I Feel Like Biggie”, there was a ton of backlash — people were not happy — and then more recently, Rick Ross dropped “Nobody”, which features an almost identical instrumental as Biggie’s original “You’re Nobody (Til Somebody Kills You), and that track happened to be quite well-received, perhaps because Diddy was on the boards, getting his executive production skills on.
Either way, this latest remake may make you pause, and shake your head in great confusion. As Complex reports, Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea and newly turned ratchet queen Keyshia Cole are working on a remake of Biggie’s classic “Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems”, and being produced by Irv Gotti. (Sounds ugly.)
The song is apparently being made for the soundtrack to the romantic comedy “The Other Woman”, which stars Cameron Diaz, Nicki Minaj and Kate Upton. We’re not sure why a romantic comedy needs a Biggie remake, but, we’ll just wait to hear the track and judge then.
