With a little help from MASS social media, MTV has revealed that its 30th annual MTV Video Music Awards will take place at the newly-opened Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The move to the popular arena will serve as the first time the VMA’s has been taped in a location other than Manhattan, Los Angeles, or Las Vegas.
This year’s awards show, which will take place on August 25th at 8pm, will also mark the first time the VMA’s has been in New York City since 2009.
Def Jam Records confirmed today (August 5) that Kanye West will be one of the many performers at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. He is confirmed to be performing “Yeezus” single “Black Skinhead,”, but no other details have been released on his performance. Kanye likes to do his own thing.
2013 will mark West’s seventh VMA performance, tying him with Madonna for most overall performances at the flagship award show. Ye’ is a VMA veteran almost, doing performances dating all the way back to a 2004 “College Dropout” medley.
Last year’s showing of the VMA’s had a huge dive in viewers, and producers are anxious to raise those views & gain more this year. Pulling Kanye out of Kim’s ass might be the move to get those moves so kudos to them.
