Kendrick Lamar most definitely had a successful night at the BET Awards in LA  last night. The master lyricist won the “Best New Artist” & “Best Male Hip Hop Artist” – two of the biggest, and most wanted awards of the evening.

Following the “Best New Artist” presentation, Kendrick graced the stage for a performance of both “m.A.A.d City” and “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe,” the latter of which included a cameo from Dallas songstress Erykah Badu who lent her vocals to the good kid, m.A.A.d city record.

Video of Kendrick’s 2013 BET Awards performance can be found below:

(Sidebar- Kendrick missed accepting his award for “Best New Artist” as he was getting ready to perform his set. There was slight speculation that he might have been late or not there to begin with, but he was probably busy making sure his mic was set correctly or any other sound checks for a live performance.)
