After Drake made a weak ‘recruitment’ of Kevin Durant during a show at his annual OVO Fest in Toronto, the Raptors received a $25,000 fine from the NBA league on accusations of ‘tampering’. The NBA has since offered to drop the fine, on the condition that the Raptors fire their Global Ambassador, rapper Drake. Luckily for Drizzy, the Toronto Raptors refused to strip him of his title and held it down.

In the grand scheme of things, $25K is nothing to an NBA franchise, and like it or not, Drake has been a crucial part to the Raptors’ rebranding, including their entire ‘We The North’ rally during last year’s playoffs. Seems like the NBA is just hating on dude.

Kevin Durant will officially be a free agent in 2016, and unfortunately for Toronto, it already appears like it’ll be a two-team race between Oklahoma City and his hometown team, the Washington Wizards.
