Yes, it’s true. Kendrick Lamar returns with his surprise release untitled unmastered., which went to digital retailers on Thursday night. The project, which follows his 2015 Grammy-winning album To Pimp a Butterfly, is comprised of eight untitled tracks recorded between approximately between 2013 and 2016.

TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith announced plans to drop something new from one of his artists sometime this week. Fans speculated whether the new music would from ScHoolboy Q, SZA, or Ab-Soul, but instead, the release was something from TDE’s golden boy, Lamar.

Prior to Top Dawg’s announcement however fans including Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James tweeted Tiffith begging & pleading with him to release the untitled Kendrick tracks that had long been rumored about. Some say it was because of Lebron’s tweet that TDE finally release untitled unmastered.

This surprise EP comes after Kendrick’s explosive Grammy performance last month, where he debuted one of the untitled tracks on stage. He also performed another song on “The Tonight Show” in January and premiered another on Comedy Central’s “Colbert Report” back in 2014.

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz’ five-year-old son Egypt produced the second half of “untitled 07,” which also features his vocals. “This is the best Dad moment everrrrr!!!” said his father Swizz. “thx #Kendrick for investing in the future!!!”
