21-year-old Chi-town native Vic Mensa can now look at his haters and say, with uber confidence, “Oh u mad, huh?” The young rapper has just recently signed with Roc Nation Records, the label owned by Jay Z, and that’s a big deal for a young guy with only 1 EP & mixtape under a belt thus far in his young career. And even though the news just broke, with Vic’s buzz being so big, the Chicago rapper is already in the promo cycle. Vic made his way by the Power 106 studios in LA and sat down with radio host Justin Credible for a little on-air chat about the record label, his music, and even announcing the title of his next project.
Lasting 20-minutes in length, Vic talked about everything from how the new deal came about, meeting Jay Z, working with Kanye West, his single with Ye, “U Mad”, performing at Coachella, his Roc-A-Fella tattoo, and much more. But before wrapping things up, Vic was asked about whats next in his future, and that’s when he revealed the title of his next project, Traffic.
“Im working on a new project called ‘Traffic’ that’s coming soon. It’s like stories of my life- a lot of my most personal moments- most vulnerable moments. And Im really excited for the people to hear the music. There’s vibes like “U Mad’, a lot more introspective shit… just a lot of textures”
