Rick Ross has been catching a lot of heat for the song he is featured on with Rocko entitled, “U.O.E.N.O”. In the song, he talks about drugging a girl and then having sex with her unconsciously. This song has caused so much controversy. Rick Ross is getting his songs cut from getting played on select radio stations because of it and now he has lost his endorsement deal with Reebok.
Today Reebok released a statement saying:
“Reebok holds our partners to a high standard, and we expect them to live up to the values of our brand. Unfortunately, Rick Ross has failed to do so. While we do not believe that Rick Ross condones sexual assault, we are very disappointed he has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue or an appropriate level of remorse. At this time, it is in everyone’s best interest for Reebok to end its partnership with Mr. Ross.”
When the controversy started, Rick Ross took to Twitter and said, “I dont condone rape. Apologies for the #lyric interpreted as rape. #BOSS. Apologies to my many business partners, who would never promote violence against women. @ReebokClassics@ultraviolet.” I’m sure this is a big lesson for Rick Ross. I guess his apology wasn’t good enough.
