One of Hip Hops greatest minds and moguls, Damon Dash seems to have some big money issues. One third of the once great, Rocafella Records is going through real financial hardship. Dash allegedly is so deep in debt he claimed in court documents that he is facing eviction from a rented mansion in Carmel, New York.
In official court documents he states:
“I am currently several months behind in paying my personal bills,” he wrote Tuesday in the 5-page filing. “For instance, I am currently over $100,000 behind in rent for the only home in which I live and at risk of being evicted.”
Dame lost some multi-million dollar homes in 2010 to foreclosure, with 7.3 million left to pay on the mortgages. Due to failed business deals, tax debts, and legal battles, Dame is nearly broke. Court records show he lost lawsuits filed by landlords, a celebrity security firm, and fashion designer Charlotte Ronson.. In addition to foreclosed homes, his leased 2008 SUV was seized after missing payments. In an attempt to save his billfold, Dash pleaded to a judge letting him know of all his expenses.. Dame pays almost 30,000 dollars in child support, 2012 he paid $20,000 in garnished wages and is currently facing a $40,000 charge for missing tax wages from his businesses. Dame is resilient so I have a feeling he will bounce back, that’s that Harlem hustle in him.
On Behalf of #MLRS we wish you good luck Dame.
