Troy Ave has been released from the hospital just days following a deadly shooting at Irving Plaza in New York City where the Brooklyn native was taken into police custody for attempted murder charges. Troy Ave was being treated for leg injuries, after accidentally shooting himself in the leg during the melee.
Video surfaced of the shooting and Troy Ave can be seen firing a pistol, but it’s unknown if he harmed anyone other than himself. The shooting left Troy Ave’s bodyguard “BSB Banga” pronounced dead, as well as two others, totaling 3 deaths at the New York event.
Upon Troy Ave’s release from the hospital, his lawyer delivered this statement to the press:
“What really happened here is Mr. Collins here is the real victim. The person who was killed at this event, he died a hero. He (McPhatter) was his bodyguard. He wasn’t shot by Mr. Collins. He was a lifelong friend. This 11 seconds of video that the NYPD released, it doesn’t say what happened before, it doesn’t say what happened after.
“The scientific evidence will show he didn’t shoot himself. This was another rush to judgement. In this case he’s the victim and should be treated like the victim.”
Troy Ave is facing attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon charges.
