Yesterday was not a happy day for the Raymond family.
Reportedly, Usher Raymond & ex-wife Tameka Foster’s 5-year-old nearly drowned when his hand got stuck in the pool’s drain after trying to retrieve a toy. When his aunt & nanny were unable to free him immediately, two contractors that were working on the house rushed to the boy’s aid and were able to get him out of the pool and perform CPR before taking him to the hospital. Doctors report that he is stable, and will be doing just fine.
While Usher is constantly busy traveling, touring, and working, his two children with ex-wife Tameka Foster have been under the watch of third party nannies & caregivers. Usher has sole custody of his children, so when reports hit that Usher’s 5-year-old son was rushed to the hospital after nearly drowning in the family pool when he was not there – it was only a waiting game ’til Tameka fought back.
Last August, a judge granted Usher full custody of both of the couple’s sons, Usher Raymond V and Naviyd, after his lawyers argued that Foster didn’t possess the “emotional stability” or “capacity” of “being a proper parent.” Tameka feels differently, and with the news of her child nearly dying, Tameka Foster immediately filed an emergency motion in Fulton County, Georgia requesting custody of their two children. According to CNN, Tameka is painting Usher as an unfit parent considering his busy work schedule.
This could get messy. Usher & Tameka have a messy history, especially in the courts. Tameka lost her first son,11-year-old Kile Glover, who passed away due to injuries sustained in a jet-ski accident last year. Tameka’s already lost one child & I’m sure she was terrified she was going to lose another so this emergency petition for custody comes as no surprise. Hopefully the courts can figure this out..
