Congratulations are in order for Hip Hop & R&B artists Common and John Legend who won a Golden Globe award for “Best Original Song” for their collaborative track “Glory”, which was featured on the soundtrack for the film “Selma” — the film based on the Civil Rights movement, the activists & Martin Luther King Jr.

While this is Common’s first Golden Globe win, he has previously won two Grammys; 2003 for his collaboration with Erykah Badu, “Love of My Life”, 2008 for his collaboration with Kanye West, “Southside”.

This is John Legend’s first Golden Globe, while the soulful crooner has nine Grammys already under his belt.

Common is nominated for two Grammys at the 2015 Grammys; once for “Best Rap Album” for his 2014 album, “Nobody’s Smiling,” once for “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration” for his track “Blak Majik” featuring Jhene Aiko.
