A New York State Trooper asserted on Tuesday that Tim Talty, the husband of a New York City oncologist who tragically killed her 4-month-old daughter before taking her own life, had absolutely no connection to the distressing incident, despite swirling rumors on social media. Steven Nevel, a public information officer, firmly debunked online speculations about Tim Talty’s involvement in the demise of his wife, Dr. Krystal Cascetta, and their infant.

Nevel, in his statement, firmly silenced the online trolls who were tarnishing Tim Talty’s reputation. “The unfounded claims on social media are attempting to defame the husband.

The officer reiterated that Tim Talty, a 37-year-old entrepreneur who owns a protein bar company named after himself, was not present at their $1 million residence in Somers when the tragic incident occurred on Saturday.

Nevel implied that the notion of the husband’s alleged involvement arose after the police received a report from an unidentified individual concerning the shooting.

Police confirmed that Tim Talty had no role in the heartbreaking murder-suicide of his wife, Dr. Krystal Cascetta, and their child, according to the images shared.

Dr. Krystal Cascetta was a hematology-oncology specialist at Mount Sinai in New York City.

Nevel criticized those who were propagating conspiracy theories, emphasizing how easy it is for such theories to arise. He praised Talty and Cascetta’s parents for their full cooperation with the authorities during this challenging time.

Nevel refrained from providing any updates on the case and declined to comment on whether postpartum depression might have contributed to the tragic incident.

Neighbors of the family reported that first responders had been to Talty and Cascetta’s residence multiple times over the summer. Bob Stuart, a neighbor, witnessed police and ambulances at the house on at least two occasions, though the reasons behind these visits remain unclear.

Dr. Krystal Cascetta, a graduate of Albany Medical College, specialized in hematology-oncology at Mount Sinai. Her biography on Mount Sinai’s website, which has since been removed, indicated that she had completed her residency at Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine.
