Creepy Man Kisses Councilwoman & Laughs As He Makes Swift Getaway
A disturbing incident unfolded in Brooklyn where a man approached and surreptitiously kissed New York City councilwoman Inna Vernikov while she was engaged in a television interview on Thursday. The unsettling encounter was captured on video.
During the CBS New York interview in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn councilwoman Inna Vernikov, who represents the 48th district as a Republican, found herself unexpectedly interrupted, as reported by network journalist Hannah Kliger.
As the reporter was in the process of posing a question, an individual wearing a cap abruptly approached from Vernikov’s left side, planting a swift kiss on her cheek. The entire incident was caught on video footage.
After the quick peck, the man turned away, grinning and chuckling, before continuing to walk down the street.
Clearly taken aback, the startled councilwoman reacted by exclaiming, “What the f—k?”
Following the incident, Vernikov took to Twitter on Friday to express her reaction: “Not the kind of love I expect from constituents! Very creepy moment.”
Several fellow city council members, regardless of their political affiliation, came to Vernikov’s defense and condemned the man’s behavior.
