Downtown Manhattan’s 100 Vandam has achieved a remarkable feat, setting a new record for the highest publicly known residential lease in New York City with an astonishing monthly rent of $125,000. While many people may be happy with this figure as an annual salary, this amount of money will only get you a single months rent for this downtown penthouse.

The identity of the tenant remains undisclosed, but the lease was facilitated by Platinum Properties agents Cyrus Eyn and Cash Bernard. Nest Seekers’ Jessica C. Campbell represented the property.

This luxurious penthouse spans an impressive 6,500 square feet, encompassing both the 20th and 21st floors of the 25-story building. Boasting six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, the duplex residence offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline, the Hudson River, the New York Harbor, and even the Statue of Liberty through its wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows.

One of its standout features is its expansive outdoor space, totaling 3,821 square feet, which includes beautifully manicured gardens, making it one of the largest outdoor areas in Manhattan.

Inside, the penthouse features an open kitchen with exquisite millwork and stunning blue de savoie stone island countertops. All bedrooms are equipped with ensuite bathrooms. The primary bedroom, offering a double exposure, includes a generous closet, a dressing room, and a spa-like ensuite bathroom with heated floors. The residence is also equipped with smart-home capabilities and boasts beamed ceilings and pre-war window fenestrations.

The building itself offers top-notch amenities, such as a 24-hour concierge, a live-in resident manager, a 1,200-square-foot fitness center on the second floor with yoga and training studios, a children’s playroom, two residents’ lounges, cold storage, private and bicycle storage, and a high-quality screening room.

While this monthly rental price stands as the highest publicly known figure, it’s worth noting that other units downtown may have achieved even higher rents. However, due to the private nature of rental transactions, rental prices are not publicly recorded for verification purposes.
