NYPD Launches Manhunt For Teenagers Who Trashed Cars

Police are seeking to identify a group of young teenagers who were caught on video vandalizing an NYPD car in Union Square during a riot that erupted after Twitch star Kai Cenat’s unlicensed PS5 giveaway event. The violent mayhem, which resulted in at least seven injuries and 66 arrests. City Hall expressed concern over the involvement of youngsters estimated to be between 14 and 18 years old.

The incident involved one teenager dancing on top of the parked police car while others took turns kicking its doors and windows. Mayor Eric Adams mentioned the presence of outside influencers who may have aggravated the situation. He also criticized parents for not preventing their children from participating in the violence during the chaotic giveaway event.

Kai Cenat, a popular online influencer with 20 million followers, had announced that he would distribute free PS5 video game consoles at the event, but he did not obtain the necessary permit. His public relations company issued an apology for the disorderly conduct that affected innocent people and businesses.

The massive crowd that gathered for the giveaway event turned violent, leading to the trashing of the NYPD car by the group of teenagers before they fled the scene. Despite the disturbances, Adams commended the NYPD for handling the situation and preventing any significant loss of life or extensive property damage.

Authorities are now seeking the public’s help in identifying the involved individuals captured in the released photos to hold them accountable for their actions during the riot.
